The Padres traded for superstar Juan Soto last summer in hopes that he would propel this offesne to newer heights. That wasn't the case in his first 70 or so games. he was struggling mightily at the plate, and there was no sign of promise at the time.

And then, he became Juan Soto again. Soto has been on a tear these past few games, and he's starting to look like the superstar the Friars hoped he'd be.

The lefty Ted Williams is living up to the name, just in time to face their division rivals and most hated rival, Los Angeles Dodgers. LA will visit Petco Park this weekend, and the Friars will look to protect their home field against their biggest rivals. Soto will also be ready to extend his hitting streak. He is currently on a six-game hitting streak, and his skipper Bob Melvin loves what he's seeing from his superstar outfielder.

“For me, it’s just the mojo,” Padres manager Bob Melvin said. “When he’s feeling it in the box, he’s having a lot of success and it feels like here recently it’s been more and more, and you have a game like today, he gets the big hit of the game and walks and has seen pitches and seeing them well and not off balance and all those things.

“This process has been ongoing here for the last week, 10 days or so.”

Juan is starting to heat up, and with everyone in the lineup and producing, this team will be scary for the remainder of the season. Let's take care of business this weekend!
