Padres' Superstar Speaks on Incredible 'Matrix' Reflex That Helped Him Avoid Injury
Your San Diego Padres finally win a game. It's been too long since they've done so, and it felt good to finally go back into the win column. Sunday marked their first win since May 15th, and they now have the day off on Monday as they will travel to the east coast to take on the Washington Nationals.
The Padres avoided the sweep against the Boston Red Sox, while superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. also did some avoiding as well, but in his case, it was a baseball to the head.
Take a look at the incredible 'matrix-like reflexes from the athletic outfielder.
Up 7-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Fernando was at the plate with two outs and a runner on second in a 0-2 count, Tatis Jr. avoided a pitch to the head at all costs and went full matrix mode on everybody.
The 24-year-old spoke to the media after the game and said he doesn't really react to a pitch coming at him until it's close to hitting him.
“I’m waiting for the end,” he said, “to see where that ball is going to go.”
This isn't the first time he's shown his full athleticism, take a look at what he did back in his first year in the league.
The dude's athleticism is otherworldly. There's nothing he can't do on the diamond, and it's a pleasure to watch.
