Following the San Diego Padres' 6-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, one of the first questions that Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit with was regarding the instant impact that new catcher Gary Sanchez has had on the team.

Nando busted up laughing and referred to Sanchez as 'The Kraken' before continuing on to highlight his confidence and production at the plate and on defense. For those that do not know, The Kraken is a mythical sea monster that appears out of nowhere and changed the power hierarchy of the Norway oceans completely in ancient stories.

Now how would that relate to Sanchez? Well, back when he was first brought aboard onto the New York Yankees' in 2015, their GM Brian Cashman said he wanted to 'release The Kraken' when referring to his rising catcher and the name has stuck ever since due to the many satisfying cracks that came with Sanchez's big hits.

We witnessed yet another one on Tuesday when he hit a massive three-run homer at the bottom of the first inning.

The 30-year-old catcher, who was released from the Mets earlier this season, is now up to six homers in his 13 games with the Friars and is boasting a .681 slugging percentage. If the Padres' front office wanted a significant upgrade compared to what they were getting out of Austin Nola, they certainly found it.

Anyways, back to what Nando was saying that he has brought to the franchise thus far.

"The Kraken," said Tatis. "I mean, everybody can see it. I'm so happy for him, he's been on a roll, not so good the last couple of years but he's coming over here and working with the boys and feeling comfortable. He's comfortable with the club, every single guy over here and we make him feel like home, just happy for him."

This is the type of chemistry we love to see along with Nando's own homer in the second inning.
