Panic is beginning to set in for the Philadelphia Phillies (0-4) fanbase after the club suffered another loss, their fourth consecutive and it came at the hands of the New York Yankees (3-1).

Taijuan Walker was given the start and he picked up right where he left off in spring training. Walker went 4.1 innings, gave up four earned runs, walked three and struck out five.

It was not the performance the Phillies were looking.

However, Philadelphia's woes only grew when reliever Yunior Marte entered the game. In just 0.1 innings, Marte gave up another four earned runs, creating a hole the Phillies wouldn't be able to dig themselves out of.

Of course the offense did little in helping their pitching staff. Despite 11 hits recorded, Philadelphia was able to plate just one run. There lack of ability to hit with runners in scoring position has plagued them in all four games of this very young 2023 MLB season.

Once again, the only silver lining came from Alec Bohm who hit in the designated hitter's position on Monday. He recorded three hits, one of which was a single. He has been the highlight of the season so far, but he can't do it on his own.

He also scored the lone run of the evening after third baseman Edmundo Sosa notched an RBI-single in the fourth inning.

One of the bigger concerns of the season has been Kyle Schwarber's lack of production. Boasting the biggest bat of the lineup, Schwarber has recorded just one hit this season, a single.

Finally, the only real other bright spot of the evening was shortstop Trea Turner who recorded two hits. He is hitting .389 on the season and is off to a red-hot start.

The Phillies will try and get things turned around on Tuesday when they face the Yankees in the second of three. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET and Matt Strahm is scheduled to make the start.
