Philadelphia Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs joined Team Israel for the World Baseball Classic just weeks ago. During their opening game, Stubbs ripped a double that would eventually turn into the game-winning shot for Israel.

Then Stubbs began to experience knee soreness. When it didn't subside, he returned to the Phillies camp and his tournament was over.

Speculation then began to pick up about the extent of his injury and whether or not it would affect his status for Opening Day.

On Thursday, he put all of that to rest.

According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, Stubbs said he underwent an MRI that showed a mild sprain. The catcher is now day-to-day but doesn't believe it will affect him in being able to suit up for Opening Day against the Texas Rangers on March 30.

It's good news coming out of Philadelphia's camp after a spring marred by a litany of injuries that has began to pile up.
