The Philadelphia Phillies will get the NLCS matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks started on Monday.

When they advanced to this round on Thursday, the layoff between the series created some speculation that perhaps one of the Phillies' star sluggers would be healthy enough to make the roster.

Rhys Hoskins has been working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered in spring training. Despite him being a longshot to return this year, he has not officially been ruled out.

Philadelphia released their official NLCS roster and left their star slugger off of it.

It seems like Hoskins is still not fully recovered to be included on the roster for the most important series of the year so far.

The slugger will attempt to do what Kyle Schwarber did when he was a member of the Chicago Cubs, returning seven months after tearing his ACL in 2016 to play in the World Series.

That possibility still exists for the Phillies if they're able to advance past the NLCS.

Who is on the 26-man official roster is not surprising.

Pitchers (13): Left-handers - Jose Alvarado, Christopher Sanchez, Gregory Soto, Matt Strahm and Ranger Suarez.

Right-handers - Seranthony Dominguez, Jeff Hoffman, Orion Kerkering, Craig Kimbrel, Michael Lorenzen, Aaron Nola, Taijuan Walker, Zack Wheeler.

Catchers (2): J.T. Realmuto and Garrett Stubbs.

Infielders (5): Alec Bohm, Bryce Harper, Edmundo Sosa, Bryson Stott and Trea Turner.

Outfielders (6): Nick Castellanos, Jake Cave, Brandon Marsh, Cristian Pache, Johan Rojas and Kyle Schwarber

It's the same group as who was on the NLDS roster, carrying more pitchers as the length of the series increase.

Hoskins will be hoping that Philadelphia can advance to their second consecutive World Series so he can potentially return for his first action of the year.
