Philadelphia Phillies Make Roster Move Ahead of Rockies Game Saturday
The Philadelphia Phillies have made a roster move ahead of their Saturday game with the Colorado Rockies. The team announced that they have placed relief pitcher Andrew Bellatti with right triceps tendinitis retroactive to April 21.
In a corresponding move, the team has reinstated Cristopher Sanchez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley as he was rehabbing from a left triceps strain.
Sanchez is slated to make the start on Saturday against the Rockies at Citizens Bank Park. The 26-year-old holds a career 5.47 ERA over 52.2 innings pitched. He will provide much-needed depth for the Phillies rotation.
His start will "push back" Zack Wheeler's start to Sunday in the series finale against Colorado.
The doubleheader on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox created a need for a sixth starter as the team will play six games in five days.
Sanchez threw 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run in his most recent start at Triple-A.
