Philadelphia Phillies Receive Encouraging News on Walker Following Injury Scare
The Philadelphia Phillies have received some good news regarding starter Taijuan Walker after he exited Wednesday's game against the Seattle Mariners early with right forearm tightness.
Walker was pulled after four innings of Wednesday’s 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Walker played catch on Thursday and will not require an MRI. He saw a doctor on Thursday and he is planning on making his next start on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
It's about the best possible news the team could have received as most forearm injuries, especially those involving tightness, don't end well.
Philadelphia's pitching staff has seen numerous injuries this season to Ranger Suarez, Nick Nelson, Andrew Painter and Noah Song. Adding Walker to that list would have been a major detriment to the Phillies and their pitching staff.
It appears Philadelphia has dodged a proverbial bullet with this good news on Thursday.
