Philadelphia Phillies Set Pitching Probables for Los Angeles Angels Series

The Philadelphia Phillies have set their pitching probables for their three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels, which starts on Monday at Citizens Bank Field.
The Phillies will face the Angels at 6:40 p.m. eastern on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a 1:05 p.m. first pitch for the Wednesday finale.
Taijuan Walker (13-5, 4.02) is expected to start on Monday. Walker returned to the rotation after a 10-day layoff when he threw a no-decision against San Francisco on Tuesday. He threw five innings, giving up six hits, two earned runs and two walks. He also struck out seven. He is 3-2 with a 4.02 ERA in his last seven starts, with 28 strikeouts and 19 walks.
Lucas Giolito (7-10, 4.32) is expected to start against Walker. He took the loss in his last start against Cincinnati on Tuesday, giving up five hits and one earned run in six innings. He struck out nine and walked two. He’s lost his last two starts and is 3-2 with a 3.59 ERA in his last 15 starts, dating back to his time with the Chicago White Sox.
Michael Lorenzen (7-8, 3.69) should take the ball on Tuesday for Philadelphia. In his last start against San Francisco on Wednesday, he threw 5.2 innings, giving up eight hits and four earned runs in a no-decision. He walked three and struck out four. He is 2-1 with a 4.15 ERA in his four starts since joining the Phillies in a trade deadline deal, with his second start a no-hitter.
Tyler Anderson (5-5, 5.35) is expected to start against Lorenzen. He took the loss in his last start against Cincinnati on Wednesday, giving up just three hits and one earned run in 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out five. He is 1-3 with a 5.61 ERA in his last seven games. He goes into the contest with 100 strikeouts for the season.
The Phillies don’t have a listed starter for Wednesday’s finale, per MLB.com. The starter could be Cristopher Sánchez (2-3, 3.33), who would pitch on normal rest on Wednesday.
He was sharp in his last start against St. Louis on Friday, giving up five hits and two earned runs in six innings. He struck out six and walked none. He’s won two of his last three starts and is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in his last seven starts, with 37 strikeouts and seven walks.
Reid Detmers (3-10, 5.03) is expected to start for the Angels. He threw five innings in his last game against Cincinnati on Wednesday. He gave up seven hits and four earned runs, with three strikeouts and two walks. He is 1-4 with a 6.82 ERA in his last seven starts.
After wrapping up the Angels series, the Phillies are off on Thursday before starting a three-game set at Milwaukee on Friday.
