In this story:

The Philadelphia Phillies need all the help they can get when it comes to their pitching rotation.

One player who was supposed to help them this season, potentially as their fifth starter, is top prospect Andrew Painter.

Unfortunately he suffered a sprained UCL in spring training that has side lined him since. The Phillies have felt the loss.

Luckily, Painter has made a massive stride in his potential return to pitching on a mound. Perhaps even for the Phillies.

According to MLB.com, Painter threw a 20-pitch bullpen on Tuesday at Philadelphia's spring training complex in Florida.

Painter is expected to throw another bullpen on Friday and then the prospects of rehab assignments may present itself.

The top prospect then could have a chance to start for the Phillies by the end of the season. Which is the same timeline he was on before the season even started.
