Phillies Hire First Female Field Staff Member In Team History
Sarah Edwards becomes first female field staff member in Philadelphia Phillies history.

Sarah Edwards has been named hitting development coach for the Philadelphia Phillies Rookie level Florida Complex League team.
Edwards will be the first female field staff member in team history, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic.
The 26-year-old Edwards played softball at the University of Buffalo and Hofstra. She played professional softball in Europe and New Zealand since graduating from college in 2018 and with the Italian National Team.
Shawn Williams will manage the team. He went 189-201 in the last three seasons at Double-A Reading, including a 61-77 mark in 2022.
