Blue Jays Ace Makes Astonishing Admission About Philadelphia Phillies Lineup
The Philadelphia Phillies squeaked out a 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. It was a walk-off error in the bottom of the tenth that did the job.
But for the Phillies right now, a win is a win.
The win on Wednesday not only swept the Blue Jays but brought Philadelphia within one game of a .500 record at 17-18.
The offense was once again anemic, but clearly that is not a reflection of who the Phillies really are. At least not to Kevin Gausman, the Blue Jays ace who had to face Philadelphia's lineup on Wednesday.
"I think they're the best lineup in the National League, from top to bottom," said Gausman speaking to MLB.com.
Someone should probably tell the Phillies fanbase.
Gausman allowed just three hits and no earned runs allowed on Wednesday. He didn't have to say what he said.
He also hasn't just said that about every lineup he has faced this season.
Sure, Philadelphia's offense has floundered this season. But they are a talented bunch,
Plus, whose offense doesn't stumble?
What would be more disastrous? A slow start or a terrible collapse in September?
Let them work through the issues now.
Come October, Gausman's words will be ringing in everyone's ears.
