The Philadelphia Phillies held steady with three Top 100 prospects as MLB.com re-ranked its Top 100 for the midway point of the season.

None of the three prospects is playing above Double-A right now, and one — pitcher Andrew Painter — is rehabbing an injury.

Painter remains the organization’s top prospect and one of the top prospects in baseball at No. 12.

The others pitcher Mick Abel at No. 46 and outfielder Justin Crawford at No. 90.

The news is getting better on Painter, as he will probably take another bullpen session this week as he tries to bounce back from a right UCL sprain.

While he hasn’t played at Triple-A, the Phillies saw him as a potential rotation option in 2023 after he had an incredible 2022 at three different affiliates, going 6-2 with a 1.56 ERA. He also struck out 155 and walked 25. Thus, he remains high in the overall rankings despite having not played this season.

Abel has pitched for Reading all season and is 2-3 with a 4.53 ERA in 12 starts this season, his third in professional baseball. He’s struck out 64 and walked 32.

Crawford moved into the Top 100 last week and has already moved up a few spots since his debut. He was selected to play in the MLB Futures game, set for July 8 in Seattle preceding All-Star Weekend.

Crawford is in just his first full season of organized professional baseball after the Phillies made him their first-round pick last year out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev., at No. 17 overall.

The 19-year-old is playing for the Class-A Clearwater Threshers, where through 46 games he’s slashed .346/.395/.456/.851 with 32 RBI and 35 stolen bases. He has not hit a home run yet this season.
