Baseball America released their Top 100 prospect list for 2022 on Wednesday. To be eligible for the list, players must have 130 or fewer MLB at-bats or have logged 50 or fewer major league innings.

Two Philadelphia Phillies prospects, starting pitcher Mick Abel and shortstop Bryson Stott made the list at numbers 51 and 67, respectively.

The right-handed Abel pitched for the Clearwater Threshers in 2021, a low-A affiliate of the Phillies. He started 14 games finishing with a 1-3 record over the course of 44.2 innings. He struck out an impressive 66 batters last season while putting up a 1.21 WHIP.

Command may be Abel’s biggest issue on the mound, as he walks an average of 5.44 batters per nine innings pitched and throws about 40% balls.

Abel was drafted with the 15th overall pick in 2020 and should be rising through the ranks soon. He is projected by MLB.com to be major league ready in 2024.

Bryson Stott (Age: 24)

A left-handed-hitting shortstop, Stott played 112 games in the minors last season and despite striking out in 108 at-bats, he batted .299 on the year with an .876 OPS. He put 16 balls over the fence and smacked 125 hits for 203 total bases.

Defensively, Stott was able to gain experience at shortstop, second base, and third base this season though he proved through baseball IQ, arm talent, and range that he has what it takes to be an everyday shortstop in the big leagues.

Stott was drafted 14th overall in 2019 and according to MLB.com could be ready for the big leagues as early as this season.
