ARLINGTON — Moments after dropping the mic during the Texas Rangers' World Series Championship celebration Friday afternoon, Corey Seager was serving chicken at Raising Cane's.

The World Series MVP made an appearance at the chicken finger chain on North Collins in Arlington, surprising diners and drive-thru customers who ecstatically snapped selfies and grabbed autographs from the slugger.

Seager had just spoken to a throng of fans at the Rangers' championship celebration at the North Plaza outside of Globe Life Field. Arlington Police estimated about 500,000 fans attended the parade, which circled the ballpark. About 30,000 were crammed into the North Plaza to watch Rangers public address announcer Chuck Morgan introduce the first-time champion Rangers team.

Seager didn't say much, but what he said reverberated across Texas, especially down in Houston. Seager referenced a month-old comment made by Astros third baseman Alex Bregman and posted by the Astros' official social media account when Houston overtook the Rangers to win the American League West on the final day of the regular season.

"I just have one thing to say," Seager said. "Everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn't win the World Series. I guess we'll never know."

The crowd roared with approval.

"It was something that motivated us. It for sure did," Seager said about an hour later at his Raising Cane's appearance. "I kind of got put up by my teammates a little bit to do it and it was worth it. You just find ways to motivate yourself. We were a motivated team and you find any way to stay motivated."

Video of Bregman taking a dig at the Rangers right before the team popped champagne on Oct. 1 went viral: "Everyone was wondering what would happen if the 'Stros didn't win the division. I guess we'll never know."

Seager, who was named MVP of the World Series after the Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 on Wednesday in Phoenix, said he hasn't had a lot of sleep the past few days. He was blown away by the fan turnout at Friday's celebration.

"It shows what this community wanted, and what they deserved," he said. "[No sleep] is worth it. This is what you want. The parade was surreal. It truly was. For everybody to show up, it really was an awesome time."
