Texas Rangers Hall of Fame Radio Voice Eric Nadel Returns To Booth
ARLINGTON, Texas – Hall of Famer broadcaster Eric Nadel returns to the Texas Rangers' radio booth Friday for the team's series-opening game against the Miami Marlins.
Nadel has missed the entire 2023 season while addressing mental health issues. His last broadcast was the 2022 regular-season finale.
Nadel is in his 45th season calling Rangers’ games. He'll resume his lead radio play-by-play duties along with partners Matt Hicks and Jared Sandler.
Nadel received the Baseball Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting in 2014 and is a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame and Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
The Rangers noted Nadel's return during pre-game activities.
Nadel returned to Globe Life Field earlier this week to do practice runs during Tuesday and Wednesday games to see if he felt ready to return.
Nadel has long raised money during his annual birthday concerts to help fund programs serving homeless teens in North Texas.
