Game Times Set for Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles in ALDS

The Texas Rangers will face the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series starting Saturday.

Now that the Texas Rangers have beaten the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card playoffs, they can turn their attention to the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series.

The Rangers and the Orioles will start the best-of-five series Saturday at noon CT in Baltimore, with the game set to be broadcast on FS1.

All four AL and NL Division Series openers will be played on Saturday.

The Rangers swept the Tampa Bay Rays to advance to ALDS at the Baltimore Orioles.

This will be the first time the Rangers have played in an AL Division Series since they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016.

The Rangers’ win over the Rays was its first playoff series win since 2011, when they beat the Detroit Tigers in the AL Championship Series and advanced to the World Series for the second straight season.

The Orioles are the No. 1 seed in the AL playoffs and while they have never faced Texas in a playoff series, they defeated the Rangers in the 2012 AL Wild Card game.

Like the Rangers, the O’s are snapping a long postseason drought. The last time Baltimore reached the postseason was in 2016 when it lost the Wild Card playoff to Toronto. The last time Baltimore played in a division series was in 2014 when it beat Detroit.

Game 2 of the series will be on Sunday in Baltimore at 3:07 p.m. CT on FS1. The only other game that day will be Game 2 of the Houston Astros’ AL Division Series against the Minnesota Twins (7:03 p.m.).

After getting Monday off, the Rangers return home to Arlington to host the Orioles in Game 3 at 7:03 p.m. on FOX. It will be the Rangers’ first home playoff games since that 2016 ALDS against Toronto.

It will also be the Rangers’ first home playoff game at Globe Life Field, which opened in 2020. Globe Life Field has hosted playoff action before, most notably the 2020 World Series during the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season.

Game 4, if necessary, will be played at Globe Life Field. Game 5, if necessary, will be played in Baltimore on Friday.
