In this story:

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager has produced eye-popping numbers this season, even as he’s missed approximately seven weeks due to a hamstring and thumb injuries.

But, in the past few days, Seager is getting just as much attention for his actual bat than he is for his hitting.

Why? Well, Twitter (or X), of course.

Seager’s bat certainly looks beat-up. But all players have a certain routine when it comes to their bats, which includes a certain preparation for the bat itself.

In this photo, his looks weathered. Perhaps he prepares it that way? Perhaps its same bat he started the season with?

That’s what former Major League player Will Middlebrooks hypothesized when he saw the photo.

That sounds preposterous. But has anyone actually seen Seager break a bat this season?

The photos made the rounds on social media and shined a light on the company that makes Seager’s bats. And, while Louisville Slugger may be the game’s ubiquitous brand, Seager’s bats don’t come from Kentucky.

They come from California.

According to WFAA.com, Seager’s bats come from Trinity Bat Company, based in Fullerton, Calif. Trinity is family-owned by Steve McKee. Before Seager, the company’s most prominent user of its bats was former Rangers slugger Vladimir Guerrero.

Trinity’s bats are built to MLB specifications. Seager gives McKee and his team plenty of feedback on the bats he receives, right down to the black paint on the bat.

McKee related one note from Seager that may explain the photo.

"His comments to my rep was that every bat we give him is a gamer," McKee said. "He doesn't give any of our bats away. His bats last, too."

So, no souvenirs for the masses. But a great bat for Seager, which is what matters most on the field.
