The Texas Rangers got back to being the offensive team they’ve been most of this season with a 15-5 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.

But it did nothing to help the Rangers in their quest to try and upend the Houston Astros in the American League West.

In fact, the race remained static as the Astros came back to beat the Baltimore Orioles 2-1 and the Seattle Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 6-3.

The Astros (85-68) hold a one-half game lead over the Rangers (84-68) and the Mariners (84-68) as the season enters the final 10 games. The Rangers, Astros and Mariners are all off on Thursday before Houston hosts the Kansas City Royals and Texas welcomes Seattle to town.
