Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy gave updates on both pitcher Jon Gray and outfielder Adolis García after each suffered injuries during Wednesday’s win over Tampa Bay.

Both had X-rays after the game on their respective injuries and both were negative, per Bochy.

García was removed from Wednesday’s game after his forearm was hit by a pitch delivered by Tampa Bay’s Kevin Kelly. With those X-rays negative, there’s a chance that he could play in the Rangers’ series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday at Globe Life Field.

Gray will get more time to recover, as he’s not scheduled to pitch again until the Rangers are on the road in Houston next week.

But Gray had thrown 4 1/3 shutout innings before his left shin was hit on a comebacker from Tampa Bay’s Yandy Díaz. Gray was in obvious pain and was removed from the game. He was diagnosed with a bruised shin.

The Rangers don’t have any other reported injuries, and they have just one player — pitcher Josh Sborz — on the injured list. He is out with right bicep tendinitis and is not eligible to come back until July 27.

The Rangers (58-39) are preparing for a three-game series with the Dodgers. Texas is expected to start left-hander Andrew Heaney on Friday, left-hander Martín Pérez on Saturday, and right-hander Dane Dunning on Sunday. After that, the Rangers head to Houston for a three-game with the Astros beginning Monday.
