HOUSTON – Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim was forced to leave Wednesday's game in the middle of his fourth-inning at-bat against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

Heim swung and missed and immediately stepped out of the box in pain. After he was checked by trainers and manager Bruce Bochy, he was taken out of the game.

Sam Huff replaced Heim with a 2-2 count and struck out swinging on the first pitch he saw. Heim is tagged with the strikeout, for you statistic nerds. Huff homered in the fifth inning to give the Rangers a 7-3 lead.

Heim left the game with left wrist soreness.

Despite the injury to Heim, it was a big inning for the Rangers, who batted around and scored four runs to take a 6-3 lead over the Houston Astros.

Heim made his first All-Star team this season and is batting .280 with 14 home runs and 70 RBI.
