Rangers Injury Updates
RHP Jacob deGrom reported left side tightness on Feb. 15 when he arrived at spring training. He took off four days throwing again. He has thrown three bullpens and a batting practice, with the latest on Saturday.
RHP Jon Gray (back tightness) was a late scratch from Friday’s games. He told Inside the Rangers that he should be back next week.
OF Bubba Thompson (leg tightness) was a late scratch for Saturday’s game. He could have played if needed but was held out as a precaution.
RHP Nathan Eovaldi reported tightness in his left side following first outing of the spring on Sat. vs. Kansas City and will skip his next start as a precaution.
RHP Jose Leclerc (left neck discomfort) will be inactive for the next few days as he continues to be monitored. He will not play in the World Baseball Classic.
RHP Jake Odorizzi (right arm fatigue) threw a light bullpen on Tuesday in Surprise and threw another side session on Thursday.
C Mitch Garver (right forearm flexor tendon repair surgery on July 11, 2022) has taken at-bats in Surprise and has made two starts at catcher.
RHP Yerry Rodríguez (right Achilles) threw live batting practice on Wednesday. He was on the list of pitchers to throw in Saturday’s game.
RHP Owen White (upper neck tightness) will be held out of games and workouts over the next few days.
C Sam Huff (right shoulder tightness) exited in the second inning of Wednesday’s game with San Diego and was evaluated on Thursday. He is not expected to miss much time.
RHP Zak Kent (right arm fatigue) is expected to resume throwing after a few days of inactivity to allow symptoms to subside.
Out for Spring Training and Beyond
RHP Brett Martin (left shoulder surgery on Jan. 18) is on the 60-day Injured List (Feb. 17) and is expected to miss most of 2023.
LHP Avery Weems (Tommy John left elbow surgery on Feb. 15) was originally expected to be a non-roster invitee for the first time in his career before undergoing season-ending procedure in February.
