Imagine if another five Texas Rangers (or more) start when the All-Star Game comes to Arlington and Globe Life Field next year.

Jonah Heim, an All-Star first-timer as the starting catcher Tuesday night in Seattle, already has.

“You heard the fans when they announced all the Seattle players,” Heim said, according to MLB.com. “So I think if that happens, and we got five starters, again, it’s gonna be really loud in Globe Life. It’s gonna be a cool environment and it’s gonna be a blast.”

The Rangers made All-Star Game history when ace Nathan Eovaldi came out for the second inning at T-Mobile Park, joining starters Heim, shortstop Corey Seager, second baseman Marcus Semien, third baseman Josh Jung and right fielder Adolis García on the field.

It marked the first time since 1951 that a team had six All-Stars on the field at the same time and only the third time overall. The Brooklyn Dodgers did it 72 years ago after the New York Yankees set the record in 1939.

Add the 2023 Rangers to the list.

“That’s gotta be one of the cooler moments in sports when you got half the team on the field is your own team and in an All-Star Game,” Heim said. “I was glad I got to share the deal with these guys.”

A ball signed by all six Rangers on the field is on its way to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

“It's incredible,” Eovaldi said. “I've been fortunate. Obviously we overlook these little things during the season because we get to be around each other all the time. But to be able to share this moment with those guys, everything that we put in, it means the world, it’s awesome.”

The National League beat the American League 3-2 to snap a nine-game losing streak.

The 2024 All-Star Game will be played in Arlington for only the second time ever, but the first at Globe Life Field.

The American League West-leading Rangers (52-39) resume the season Friday with the start of a nine-game, 10-day homestand. Texas will face the Cleveland Guardians, Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers in successive three-game series.
