All five of the Texas Rangers affiliates were in action on Friday, with the top three clubs all winning games. 

Triple-A Round Rock faced Albuquerque, Double-A Frisco played  Corpus Christi, High Class-A Hickory took on Asheville, Class-A Down East squared off against Kannapolis and the ACL Rangers battled the ACL Angels.

Triple-A Round Rock

RF Elier Hernandez (1-for-3, BB, 2B, RBI) hit the go-ahead RBI double in the 4th inning to push Round Rock to a 2-1 win over Albuquerque. With the two-bagger, he extended his hitting streak to 16 games and is 21-for-70 (.300) with 8 XBH across that span. LF Dustin Harris (1-for-3, BB, HR, RBI) belted his 5th homer of the year to tie the game at one in the 3rd frame. RHP Cole Winn (4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R-ER, 3 BB, 4 SO) retired 14 of 18 BF after starter RHP Zak Kent (3.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 0 BB, 2 SO) twirled 3.0 one-run innings. 

Double-A Frisco

Frisco plated a pair of runs in the 7th inning to squeeze past Corpus Christi, 2-1. RHP Dane Acker (4.1 IP, 5 H, 0 R-ER, 3 BB, 5 SO) spun 4.1 scoreless innings to lower his season ERA to 3.16. SS Keyber Rodriguez (1-for-3, BB, 2B) and 3B Chris Seise (1-for-4, BB, 2B) tallied both of the ‘Riders XBH. LHP Antoine Kelly (0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 1 SO) got the last out and still hasn’t allowed an earned run across his last 20 app dating back to June 9 to lower his ERA from 4.29 to 2.11: 19.2 IP, 12 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 24 SO. 

High Class-A Hickory

Hickory knocked off Asheville, 7-3, for its 9th win across the team’s last 10 games. The Crawdads have outscored their opponents, 74-34, in those 10 contests. RF Angel Aponte (2-for-4) finished with a multi-hit effort, while 1B Garrett Mitchell (1-for-4, HR, RBI) launched his 9th home run of the season. RHP Winston Santos (W, 5.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R-ER, 1 BB, 6 SO) earned the win despite allowing a trio of runs. RHP Jackson Leath (2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 2 BB, 4 SO) didn’t allow a hit but walked a pair across two scoreless innings. 

Class-A Down East

Down East allowed a pair of runs in the bottom of the 9th to lose, 7-8, on Friday night. SS Danyer Cueva (1-for-3, 3 RBI) drove in 3 runs for the Woodies, while RF JoJo Blackmon (2-for-4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) homered for the 7th time this year. DH Quincy Scott (1-for-4, 3B, RBI) tripled home the tying run in the 9th frame before Blackmon’s go-ahead homer. RHP Eury Rosado (3.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R-ER, 1 BB, 5 SO) made his Single-A debut and retired 11 of 16 BF. 

ACL Rangers

The ACL Rangers managed just 5 hits as they were knocked off by the ACL Angels, 3-7. 2B Echedry Vargas (2-for-4, 3B) was the only Ranger who tallied multiple hits for the squad. RF Maxton Martin (1-for-4, RBI) and 3B Estaban Mejia (1-for-4, RBI) drove in the team’s lone RBI. RHP Izack Tiger (2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 SO) made his 2nd professional appearance and was tagged for 2 runs, 1 of them unearned.
