The Texas Rangers' minor league teams were all in action on Tuesday. 

The Triple-A Round Rock Express is hosting Albuquerque, the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders are at Corpus Christi, the High Class-A Hickory Crawdads were at Asheville and the Class-A Down East Wood Ducks were at Kannapolis.

Meanwhile, the Rangers' Arizona Complex League team continued action in Surprise.

Here are the results for the Texas Rangers' minor-league teams for Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Triple-A Round Rock

Round Rock (17-17, 61-47, 3rd, 5.0 GB) used a 4-run 8th inning to top Albuquerque, 10-5, in the series opener. 2B Jax Biggers (2-for-4, RBI) made his first start at the Triple-A level and was one of five Express batters with a multi-hit game. RF Elier Hernandez (1-for-4, BB) extended his hit streak to 13 games as the outfielder is 16-for-56 (.286) with 6 XBH across that span. SS Davis Wendzel (3-for-4, BB, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) belted his team-high 20th home run of the season, and is 1 of 7 players in the PCL with 20+ homers…RHP Owen White (4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) made the start for the E-Train and allowed 1 R-ER across 4.0 innings of work. RHP Chase Lee (1.0 IP,0 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) struck out the side in the 9th inning to secure the victory. 

Double-A Frisco

Frisco (19-15, 50-52, T2nd, 1.0 GB) RHP Ryan Garcia (6.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) threw 6.0 no-hit innings to blank Corpus Christi, 6-0…Garcia faced just 1 over the minimum and is the first Frisco pitcher to throw 5.1+ IP in a start since Garcia himself went 7.0 innings on 6/10 at the Hooks... RHP Reid Birlingmair (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 RER, 0 BB, 3 SO) allowed the only hit in the contest as LHP Triston Polley (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 1 SO) pitched a hitless 9th inning to complete the one-hitter. 3B Frainyer Chavez (1-for-4, HR, RBI) notched the first Double-A homer of his career in the 5th inning, while DH Trevor Hauver (1-for-2, 2 BB, 2 RBI) drove in a pair of runs and reached in 3 of 4 PA. RF Kellen Strahm (2-for-4, BB, RBI) was the only ’Rider with multiple hits. 

High Class-A Hickory

Hickory (26-10, 53-44, 1st, +4.0 GA) Hickory won its 7th straight game with a 4-1 victory over Asheville and have outscored its opponents, 56-19, across those 7 contests. RHP Jose Corniell (W, 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 9 SO) set a season high with 9 SO and matched a season-high with 7 IP. It marked his 2nd consecutive ultra-quality start this season; last 2 starts: (14.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 13 SO). C Cody Johnson (3-for-4, HR, RBI) tallied a trio of hits and recorded 1 of the 3 long balls for the Crawdads. 1B Abimelec Ortiz (1-for-4, HR, RBI) and CF Daniel Mateo (1-for-4, HR, RBI) launched the other two homers. LF Wyatt Langford (0-for-3) was held hitless for the first time in his professional career. 

Class-A Down East

Down East (18-19, 55-43, T3rd, 6.0 GB) managed just 5 hits in the series opener against Kannapolis, falling 3-1. RHP Luis Ramirez (2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 1 BB, 0 SO) retired 6 of 7 BF in the start before RHP Dylan MacLean (L, 4.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R-ER, 1 BB, 2 SO) allowed a pair of runs in the 4th inning. The Woodies drew within a run as a balk scored C Ian Moller (0-for-2, R, BB). However the Cannon Ballers plated another off RHP DJ McCarty (1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) to grab the two-run victory. 1B Miguel Villarroel (1-for-4, 2B) and RF JoJo Blackmon (1-for-2, BB, 2B) recorded Down East’s lone XBH. 

ACL Rangers

The ACL Rangers (18-29, 5th, 9.0 GB) allowed 7 runs across the final three innings to drop a 9-4 decision to the ACL Athletics. LF Wady Mendez (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) crushed his 2nd home run of the season, a 2-R shot in the 7th inning. RF Marcos Torres (1-for-3, BB, 2B) doubled while CF Maxton Martin (1-for-4) finished with a single. RHP Josh Gessner (3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 6 SO) and RHP Ryan Lobus (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R-ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) combined to set down 12 of 14 BF and record 9 of the Rangers’ 16 strikeouts.
