Apparently, the Texas Rangers are more generous spreading out their postseason bonuses than the Houston Astros were last year.

A full postseason share for the 2023 World Series champion Rangers totaled $506,263, as part of the largest pool in MLB history. The $107.8 million split among the playoff teams beat last year’s $107.5 million in the first season of the expanded playoffs.

The Texas shares were down from Houston’s $516,347 in 2022.

The Rangers divided $38.8 million into 64 full shares, 12.56 partial shares and $48,000 in cash awards, according to the commissioner’s office. The Astros went with 59 full shares, 14.14 partial shares and $940,000 in cash awards.

In essence, the Rangers spread their pool to more recipients than Houston did after the 2022 World Series.

The National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks, who lost to Texas in the World Series, gave out a full share of $313,634. The Diamondbacks split $25.9 million into 71 full shares and 11.49 partial shares. The Philadelphia Phillies’ share was $296,255 last year.

The shares for the rest of the 2023 playoff teams:

The pool includes 60% from the first two games of each Wild Card Series, first three games of each Division Series, and first four games of each League Championship Series and World Series.
