Pricey Texas Rangers Tailgate Comes Without Opening Day Tickets
Opening Day for the Texas Rangers is approaching fast. Tickets for the March 30 clash with the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies recently went on sale and Globe Life Field should be packed.
And while ticket demand is high for one of the more anticipated seasons in recent years with new ace Jacob deGrom and manager Bruce Bochy in the fold, the Rangers are offering another way to enjoy Opening Day festivities.
A pricey one at that.
For the mere price of $1,500, you can tailgate up to five hours before the 3:05 p.m. CT first pitch with your own tent, tables and parking passes. Kick that up to $2,500 and the Rangers will throw in catering for up to 25 people.
Sounds like a party to ring in the 2023 season.
According to the globelifefield.com: “Our Opening Day Tailgate is great for hosting clients, families, and anyone who wants to be part of Globe Life Field history.”
Here’s the kicker, no tickets to the actual game. These tailgate packages sure sound like a good time, but your part of “Globe Life Field history” is reserved for the parking lot. Tickets to actually see the Rangers and Phillies are sold separately, according to the stadium sales staff.
The Rangers, currently in Spring Training in Arizona, are expected to make a significant improvement after six consecutive losing seasons. Texas last reached the playoffs in 2016.
