Texas Rangers Keep It Going Behind Seager, Semien Power
ARLINGTON, Texas – Marcus Semien and Corey Seager each hit home runs to lead the Texas Rangers to their fifth consecutive win Tuesday at Globe Life Field.
The Rangers' 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays ties their longest win streak of the season on June 6.
"I think our hitting is going to carry us a lot of nights, but when we win these close games, it's definitely pitching and defense," said Semien, who was 3 for 4.
Seager's three-run homer in the seventh put Texas up 5-1.
Nathan Eovaldi (11-3) earned the win after holding the Rays scoreless over six innings.
The Texas win coupled with the Houston Astros' loss to the Colorado Rockies increased the Rangers' lead atop the AL West to 4 1/2 games.
The Rangers (57-39) go for the sweep of the Rays (60-38) at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday.
