Texas Rangers Have Largest Ticket Price Increase For 2023 MLB Season

The Texas Rangers have seen a sharp increase in their ticket prices on the secondary market for the upcoming 2023 MLB season.
In this story:

MLB ticket prices have been a point of contention for several years. The average family is having a harder time affording a trip to the ballpark.

Generally speaking, ticket prices almost always correlate to franchise success. For the last few years, the Texas Rangers have been in rebuild mode and attendance at games has suffered.

Heading into the 2023 MLB season, expectations are sky-high after the team has spent over $800 million the last two offseasons. Also sky-high are the ticket prices for the upcoming season after seeing a 77-percent increase from last year on the secondary market, according to TicketIQ

The Rangers expect to have more fans in the stands at Globe Life Field to watch Jacob deGrom, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Co. trying to get the franchise back into playoff contention. Those same fans can also expect to pay more as prices around the sport continue to rise.

The Rangers open the season Thursday against the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.
