The Boston Red Sox will be taking a "north star" approach toward the trade deadline, meaning they will do whatever is best for the direction of the team, regardless of buy or sell.

With that in mind, there are some impending free agents that could be on the move, including one slugger who could be seen as expendable.

The Philadelphia Inquirer continues to link Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall to the Philadelphia Phillies and now FanSided's Robert Murray has done the same.

"There’s quite a bit of interest in Duvall, he’s got a good chance of being traded, the Phillies are far from alone," Murray said.

Duvall is hitting .259 with 21 extra-base hits including eight home runs, 28 RBIs and a .852 OPS in 41 games this season.

The former All-Star and Gold Glove winner certainly could aid Boston's postseason quest but he also could be seen as expendable with the recent emergence of Jarren Duran coupled with Masataka Yoshida, Alex Verdugo and Rob Refsnyder already being regular contributors.

If Boston were to trade Duvall, it sounds as if they could fetch a hefty return. The market for impact bats is thin, and there have been reports of the Los Angeles Dodgers having interest on top of the Phillies. As Murray noted, he'll have many suitors.

It would probably make the most sense to keep Duvall around given the recent skid by Verdugo and the constant threat of injury. That said, he'll be the only notable rental the Red Sox could deal, assuming James Paxton is a roster lock.

Neville spent all four years with Merrimack's radio station WMCK, where he grew as a radio/podcast host and producer.  His propensity for being in front of a microphone eventually expanded to film, where he produced multiple short films alongside his then-roommate and current co-worker Stephen Mottram. On a journey that began as a way to receive easy credits via film classes, he received a call from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" star Charlie Day. Day advised him to make a feature-length film, which he completed his senior year. While writing the film, Neville completed an internship for United Way as part of their NFL Partnership Program. Neville ran the blog for a team of interns and hosted an internet show called "United Way's NFL Partnership Series" where he interviewed NFL alumni. After college Neville wrote for SB Nation's "Over The Monster," a Red Sox sister site of the flagship brand. His work would eventually lead him to a job as a content producer with NESN, where he would cover all sports. After developing as a writer with the top regional network in the world, he was given the opportunity to join the Sports Illustrated Media Group in his current endeavor as the publisher of "Inside The Red Sox." The successful launch and quick rise of "Inside The Red Sox" led to Neville joining the Baseball Essential ownership group, a national baseball site under SIMG.
