The Boston Red Sox's celebration of a sweep against the Detroit Tigers was spoiled by an injury that was sustained with just two outs remaining in the series finale.

Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall injured his left wrist on an attempted diving catch Sunday, and everything after the injury has implied that bad news is on the way.

The 34-year-old was immediately pulled from the game for X-rays. After the game, Boston started to hold their cards tight to the vest.

"Texted (Red Sox chief baseball officer) Chaim Bloom for an update on Duvall's X-rays," MassLive's Christopher Smith tweeted Sunday. 'We'll have one tomorrow,' he texted back."

If Duvall was fine, the Red Sox brass could have said so. A delay would imply that further testing needs to be done or some moves need to be made ahead of an update. Moments later, Smith kept digging and uncovered a critical detail.

"Bobby Dalbec will travel to Tampa this evening, per two industry sources," Smith tweeted. "The Red Sox have not made any moves yet but he would be the one to replace Duvall if Duvall goes on the injured list."

As many have noted, Duvall injured the same wrist on July 23 last summer and missed the rest of the season. Another ailment to a wrist that had to be surgically repaired less than a year ago is quite concerning.

Nobody has reported any sort of timeline to this point but it's pretty clear he'll miss some time.

While Red Sox superstar Rafael Devers is the best player on the roster, Duvall has been not only the most productive player on the team thus far but arguably the most productive player in Major League Baseball a couple of weeks into the season. Duvall suffering an injury amid the best stretch of his career is devastating.

On a journey that began as a way to receive easy credits via film classes, he received a call from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" star Charlie Day. Day advised him to make a feature-length film, which he completed his senior year. While writing the film, Neville completed an internship for United Way as part of their NFL Partnership Program. Neville ran the blog for a team of interns and hosted an internet show called "United Way's NFL Partnership Series" where he interviewed NFL alumni. After college Neville wrote for SB Nation's "Over The Monster," a Red Sox sister site of the flagship brand. His work would eventually lead him to a job as a content producer with NESN, where he would cover all sports. After developing as a writer with the top regional network in the world, he was given the opportunity to join the Sports Illustrated Media Group in his current endeavor as the publisher of "Inside The Red Sox." The successful launch and quick rise of "Inside The Red Sox" led to Neville joining the Baseball Essential ownership group, a national baseball site under SIMG.
