Spring training officially is here but the Boston Red Sox's roster may look different in the very near future.

Boston already will look extremely different when the 2023 Major League Baseball season kicks off after a busy offseason that saw the club sign Masataka Yoshida, Justin Turner, and Kenley Jansen among others. Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom insinuated Tuesday that the team may have another move up their sleeve.

"We like who we have, but we're going to continue to look to add to this group," Bloom said as seen on a clip shared by The Bradfo Sho. "Obviously we've got some guys like (Trevor Story) who we know we'll be without. We're still without (Adalberto Mondesi). We're working on a timetable there as we progress him. We're going to keep looking to add."

The most likely move the Red Sox will make could the addition of either Jose Iglesias or Elvis Andrus. Both Iglesias and Andrus still are available and have been heavily linked to Boston since it was announced that Trevor Story would miss time as he recovers from offseason elbow surgery.

Boston also no longer has Xander Bogaerts after he signed with the San Diego Padres as a free agent so a move for an infielder would make perfect sense. Enrique Hernandez likely will be the team's everyday shortstop but second base is up for grabs with Adalberto Mondesi and Christian Arroyo as the only other veteran infielders on the roster. Mondesi also seems as if he will miss time as he continues to recover from a torn ACL which leaves Arroyo as the team's lone option for the near future.

With spring training officially in full swing, the Red Sox can place Story on the 60-day injured list and open up a roster spot that could be used by the team in any way. Some other big-name free agents that are available but don't fit the team's need for a middle infielder are David Price, Zack Britton, Will Smith, Miguel Sano, and Gary Sanchez.

There's no way to know for sure what the Red Sox will do next, but it sounds like a move is extremely likely.
