Red Sox Top Prospect Absolutely Crushes First Home Run Of Spring Training For Boston
Spring training is in full swing and has gone pretty well so far for the Boston Red Sox.
Sure, the Grapefruit League began only late last week, but Boston already has been impressive. Some of the Red Sox's newest players have made their presence felt early and prospects who likely will be with the team in the not-so-distant future also have made an impact.
Top first base prospect likely 2023 starter Triston Casas stepped up in a major way and clubbed his first home run of spring training Tuesday when the squad took on the Miami Marlins.
Casas stepped up to the plate in the top of the fifth inning and with a runner on second base forced a full count from left-handed youngster Daxton Fulton. The young Boston slugger than crushed a hanging slider well over the right field fence to give the Red Sox a smooth four-run lead.
Boston entered the tilt with a 2-0-1 record so far in the Grapefruit League and have looked solid. The Red Sox had a roller coaster of an offseason and certainly will look different in 2023, but if Casas is able to even come close to living up to the hype surrounding him, the Boston may be in good shape at first base for the long run.
