The Boston Red Sox still need another frontline starter if the club wants to compete for a postseason spot.

Boston has been linked to a handful of hurlers but still has work to do. The Red Sox have been mentioned as possible landing spots for multiple free agents like Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery.

The club also has been linked to possible trade candidates like Chicago White Sox ace Dylan Cease and Miami Marlins hurler Jesús Luzardo. Boston has the prospect capital needed to get a deal done but the reported asking prices for both have been astronomical.

At this point, it seems like both Cease and Luzardo will at least begin the 2024 season with their current teams but that doesn't mean either won't be moved ahead of the trade deadline.

Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller attempted to predict the landing spots of each of the most talked about trade candidates and although Boston has been linked to Luzardo on multiple occasions, actually predicted that the Baltimore Orioles would land him.

"Factor in the very team-friendly price of $5.5M this season with two years of team control yet to come and there's really no question he would be the most coveted player on the trade block if he lands there," Miller said. "It would take a lot for Miami to give him up, but Baltimore does have a lot to offer, boasting maybe the best farm system and quite the crop of talent already in the majors.

"Without actually drawing up a theoretical trade package for y'all to get mad about, let's just say there's not enough room for Baltimore's entire stockpile of quality position players to get regular playing time. And if they can turn a few of those bats not named Jackson Holliday, Gunnar Henderson, or Adley Rutschman into three years of one of the most lethal left-handed starting pitchers in the game today, why not?"

Baltimore already has made one massive trade by acquiring superstar hurler Corbin Burnes. If they could land Luzardo as well they likely would be considered the top club in the American League.
