The Boston Red Sox will have plenty of competition to bring back one of the organization's leaders this offseason.

Boston landed Justin Turner in free agency last season but he is a free agent once again after declining his player option for the 2024 campaign. He reportedly is looking for a multi-year deal and could end up landing one this offseason. It has been reported that there is mutual interest in a reunion between Turner and the Red Sox, but he will be 39 years old when the 2024 season kicks off so a move may not make sense for Boston.

Plus, it sounds like the Red Sox are going to have plenty of competition to bring Turner back into the fold. Three teams that reportedly could pursue Turner are the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Seattle Mariners, and the Chicago Cubs, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

"I would say the team that plays closest to here, the Arizona Diamondbacks, could be a great fit for Justin Turner," Morosi said. "Of course, Evan Longoria now is a free agent, and the benefit of having this young, position player core that the D-Backs have and relatively cost-controlled, you can go out and sign and specifically target free agents you are looking for...

"How about the Mariners and Justin Turner? What a great fit he would be. Maybe he could play some first or DH depending on how you handle Ty France and his future there. I would say those two teams on the West Coast really jump out to me in a big way. I think going back to Boston is one more fit but I think those three are the ones that stand out. And let's remember here the Cubs because Craig Counsell was the (Milwaukee Brewers) manager and the Brewers really courted Turner seriously in free agency a few years back."

Turner was one of the Red Sox's top offensive players in 2023 and quickly became a beloved figure in the organization which is why it's not surprising he will have many suitors. No matter where he lands, hopefully, he will be able to continue to shine.
