The Boston Red Sox broadcast team over at NESN has taken a few hits as of late and is in somewhat of a flux state.

With the late Jerry Remy no longer with us and Dennis Eckersley calling it a career, the booth has lost some unbelievable talent.

One player who Red Sox Nation has clamored to see in the booth is fan-favorite utility man Brock Holt. Fortunately, it sounds like they might get their wish at some point. The 34-year-old appeared on NESN's broadcast team briefly toward the end of the 2022 season and had a blast.

"I loved doing it. It was fun," Holt told Steve Perrault and Joey Copponi while appearing on our very own ITM Podcast on Wednesday. "Obviously being around the game, talking about the game, it was real easy."

Holt later admitted how there was an adjustment period to the suit, lights and having to be the one coming up with topics as opposed to his previous career where he just answered questions in the clubhouse, but he was able to get comfortable quickly.

"I enjoyed it. I love Tom Caron. I've always been a fan of his, and Jim Rice was doing it with me so, good dudes," Holt continued. "The people at NESN were great so we'll see what happens. It's something that I would consider just to keep me around the game. I want to be involved somehow in not just baseball but the Red Sox and Boston so we'll try to figure something out so we can make that happen. I obviously always wanted to be here (Boston) but things happen and that's the way it went. Now that I have a choice, I would choose to come back and be a part however I can."

It sounds like Holt's career in broadcasting could be more of a question of when, not if, which would be overwhelmingly positive news for those that watch Red Sox baseball.

He'll use at least half of his airtime to rag on his former teammate and close friend Andrew Benintendi, which he also did in this interview

Before starting "Inside The Red Sox", Neville attended Merrimack College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Media with a minor in Marketing. Neville spent all four years with Merrimack's radio station WMCK, where he grew as a radio/podcast host and producer.  His propensity for being in front of a microphone eventually expanded to film, where he produced multiple short films alongside his then-roommate and current co-worker Stephen Mottram. On a journey that began as a way to receive easy credits via film classes, he received a call from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" star Charlie Day. Day advised him to make a feature-length film, which he completed his senior year. While writing the film, Neville completed an internship for United Way as part of their NFL Partnership Program. Neville ran the blog for a team of interns and hosted an internet show called "United Way's NFL Partnership Series" where he interviewed NFL alumni. After college Neville wrote for SB Nation's "Over The Monster," a Red Sox sister site of the flagship brand. His work would eventually lead him to a job as a content producer with NESN, where he would cover all sports. After developing as a writer with the top regional network in the world, he was given the opportunity to join the Sports Illustrated Media Group in his current endeavor as the publisher of "Inside The Red Sox." The successful launch and quick rise of "Inside The Red Sox" led to Neville joining the Baseball Essential ownership group, a national baseball site under SIMG.
