Red Sox Superstar Expected To Return To Lineup After Early Injury Scare
It sounds like Boston Red Sox fans can let out a sigh of relief.
Boston already has been dealing with some unfortunate injuries, but one of the club's biggest stars should be back in the starting lineup very soon.
Red Sox superstar third baseman Rafael Devers impressed in the club's Opening Day win over the Seattle Mariners but has been dealing with a sore shoulder ever since. Although he hasn't been in the club's starting lineup over the last two games, he reportedly should be back Sunday, according to The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey.
"(Red Sox manager Alex Cora) said Devers is feeling better but they’re giving him one more day," McCaffrey said. "He took some swings in the cage today. Cora said they haven’t done imaging. Thinks he’ll be in the lineup on Sunday."
It sounds like things aren't very serious with Devers' shoulder but the club has wanted to be cautious. This makes a lot of sense. Boston is just three games into the 2024 season and Devers is going to be a major part of the club's success.
Boston's offense is contingent on Devers being healthy and contributing. Luckily, it sounds like he will be completely okay despite the early scare.
The Red Sox have some very low expectations this season, but do have a lot of talent and could surprise some people. If Boston is going to have success this season and possibly get back to the postseason, Devers will be a major reason why so the club should continue to take all precautions.
