The 2024 season just kicked off, but speculation already is starting to pick up about who possibly could be dealt ahead of the trade deadline.

Major League Baseball clubs have plenty of time to make those tough choices as the trade deadline isn't until July 30, but there are sure to be plenty of rumors throughout the season. One team that has struggled out the gate and already has found itself in trade rumors is the Miami Marlins.

Miami is 0-7 on the season so far and if things continue to trend in a negative direction, could end up being sellers with Jesús Luzardo and Luis Arráez possibly on the way out of town, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin.

"They are 0-7, with four starting pitchers on the injured list," Rosenthal and Lin said. "No, it is not too early to envision the Miami Marlins as a trade-deadline seller, not when they already have moved one veteran player and entertained offers for some of their biggest names.

"The veteran the Marlins traded, infielder Jon Berti, 34, was only a part-time contributor. Second baseman Luis Arráez, 27, and left-hander Jesús Luzardo, 26, are more valuable commodities. The Marlins resisted trading both before Opening Day. But if their play does not improve, first-year general manager Peter Bendix almost certainly will be more inclined to dismantle his roster."

If the Marlins do end up taking offers for Luzardo, the Boston Red Sox should get on the phones quickly. Boston has been linked to the young ace on multiple occasions and still could use another top-of-the-rotation hurler.

Boston has gotten off to a hot start to begin the 2024 campaign and if things continue like this, could be buyers ahead of the trade deadline. It's too early to know for sure what will happen, but if you're a Red Sox fan, keep an eye on the Marlins and Luzardo.
