Cincinnati Reds No. 6 Ranked Prospect Throws a Gem For Double-A Chattanooga

The 21-year-old was acquired in the Sonny Gray trade.

Chase Petty tossed a gem on Tuesday night for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.

The 21-year-old threw six innings, giving up only one run on five hits. He walked two batters and struck out five.

Petty is the Reds' sixth-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in March of 2022 for starting pitcher, Sonny Gray.

Petty has had an up-and-down season so far, posting a 5.25 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings.
