Bowden: Mariners May Part With Quality Starting Pitcher in Potential Jonathan India Trade

The former National League Rookie of the Year has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason.

CINCINNATI — Jonathan India has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason.

Former Reds general manager and current front office insider Jim Bowden mentioned the Red Sox as a potential landing spot in his latest article. He also thinks the Seattle Mariners could trade a young starting pitcher like Bryce Miller or Bryan Woo.

"Miller and Woo have significant value on their own and in a deal certainly could bring back a significant bat such as Jonathan India from the Reds or Nolan Gorman from the Cardinals," Bowden wrote in his latest article for The Athletic.

Miller, 25, made 25 starts for Seattle last season, posting a 4.32 ERA in 131 1/3 innings.

Woo, 23, made 18 starts and posted a 4.21 ERA in 87 2/3 innings.

Landing a capable starter in an India trade would make sense for the Reds.

General manager Nick Krall insists the team isn't desperate to move the former National League Rookie of the Year. That may be true, but there are plenty of teams out there that are hoping to acquire India. If the Mariners are willing to part with a young arm that has started in the majors, then Cincinnati would certainly have to consider it.
