In this story:

CINCINNATI — Reds infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand underwent successful surgery on his fractured right hand, manager David Bell announced on Friday.

The 24-year-old is expected to miss the next three months, which means his 2024 season is likely over. The surgery was to repair ligament damage.

Meanwhile, Graham Ashcraft is dealing with an elbow injury and will be out until September if all goes well.

It's unfortunate news for Ashcraft, who went on the injured list earlier this week. We knew Encarnacion-Strand was going to miss significant time. Hopefully both players can make a full recovery.
