CINCINNATI — Reds outfielder Rece Hinds had a historic opening week after he was promoted to the big leagues. He won the National League Player of the Week award on Monday.

The 23-year-old had nine extra base hits, finishing with five home runs and 11 RBI in seven games.

The Reds are 47-50 at the All-Star break. Hinds is one reason why fans can be hopeful that this team is going to turn things around and make a playoff push.
