The Reds have been looking to add an outfield bat all offseason long, and they have finally done that, signing outfielder Austin Hays to one-year, $5 million contract according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
The deal includes $1 million in incentives.
Hays slashed .255/.303/.396 with 23 extra-base hits in 85 games last season with the Phillies and the Orioles.
The right-hander exceeds against left-handed pitching, slashing .277/.331/.469 with 73 extra-base hits over his career.
Welcome to Cincinnati, Austin Hays!

Hays is a quality player, provides a lot of thump vs LHP and probably isn’t going to be a massive drop vs RHP.
