Elly De La Cruz Sets Cincinnati Reds Record Ahead of All-Star Break

De La Cruz is the Reds' lone representative in the All-Star Game.

CINCINNATI — Elly De La Cruz stole two bases on Monday night, giving him 45 on the season. It's the most stolen bases prior to the All-Star break in Reds' history.

De La Cruz still has six more games to add to his total. He nearly stole home, but was thrown out. The 22-year-old passed Billy Hamilton to set a new Reds record.

De La Cruz is Cincinnati's lone All-Star. The young shortstop is a game changing player and his ability to steal bases is a big reason why he's so valuable.
