Elly De La Cruz Weighs in on Reds' Outlook After David Bell Firing

It's an important offseason for the Reds.

Prior to Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Elly De La Cruz discussed the Reds' future with Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“I have a lot of confidence,” De La Cruz said. “This team will come together next year and be ready to compete. We have a lot of young talent. They’re good teammates. That’s what I like.”

Although De La Cruz fully believes in the future, he acknowledged that the team needs to get better this offseason.

“The team needs to improve a lot of things,” De La Cruz said.

The Reds are 76-83 this season. They have three games left and will miss the postseason for a fourth-straight year.
