CINCINNATI — Three Reds players received votes for National League Rookie of the Year

That shouldn't be a surprise, especially after Cincinnati finished 82-80 and nearly brought playoff baseball back to the Queen City in September.

Matt McLain led the way with one second place vote and two third place votes.

Spencer Steer received four third place votes. He was also a finalist for the Silver Slugger Award.

Elly De La Cruz quickly become one of baseball's biggest stars of the summer. He might've cooled off as the season went along after hitting for the cycle and taking the league by storm, but he still received one third place vote.

The Reds have a bright future and the trio of McClain, Steer and De La Cruz are a big part of it.

Diamondbacks star Corbin Carroll was the unanimous winner of the award. Check out the vote totals below:

Corbin Carroll, AZ: 30 first-place votes, unanimous — 150 points
Kodai Senga, NYM: 22 (2nd-place votes), 5 (3rd) — 71 points
James Outman, LAD: 5 (2nd), 5 (3rd) — 20 points
Nolan Jones, COL: 2 (2nd), 11 (3rd) — 17 points
Matt McLain, CIN: 1 (2nd), 2 (3rd) — 5 points
Spencer Steer, CIN: 4 (3rd) — 4 points
Eury Pérez, MIA: 1 (3rd) — 1 point
Elly De La Cruz, CIN: 1 (3rd) — 1 point
Patrick Bailey, SF: 1 (3rd) — 1 point
