Nick Lodolo and the Cincinnati Reds Cruise Past Chicago White Sox 5-0
The Reds beat the White Sox 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Lodolo was the shining star in this one. He pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and finishing with 10 strikeouts.
The Reds got ahold of Garrett Crochet like no one has so far this season. They scored five runs in the second inning to take control of the game.
Luke Maile hit a two-run single that scored both Stuart Fairchild and Jeimer Candelario.
Spencer Steer had the biggest moment at the plate, clearing the bases with a three-run double. Santiago Espinal, Maile, and Jonathan India scored to make it 5-0.
Fairchild had one of the greatest catches so far this season as he made a diving snag out in right field. His defense is getting better by the game and he has had some electric moments thus far.
The Reds improve to 8-6 on the season. They'll go for the series sweep on Sunday.
