The Cincinnati Reds lost to the New York Mets 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. They fall to 5-4 on the season.

Andrew Abbott didn’t have the best day in he second start of the season. He pitched five innings and gave up three runs, seven hits and issued two walks.

The Mets starting pitcher Sean Manaea nearly destroyed Cincinnati, allowing just three hits and one run in five innings.

Tejay Antone was a big story in this one as he threw only a single pitch before having to leave with an apparent elbow injury.

Another big story would be Elly De La Cruz’s hitting streak coming to an end. He was riding a 13-game wave before going hitless in this one.

A single from Francisco Alvarez scored the first run for the Mets after he drove in star shortstop Francisco Lindor. However, this wasn’t the ugliest run that the Reds allowed as a hit-by pitch drove in a run with bases loaded.

Lindor extended the lead with a solo homer.

Following the homer from Lindor, a sac fly from Santiago Espinal scored Jeimer Candelario.
