The Twins continue to cut down their roster ahead of next Thursday's season opener. Minnesota optioned two and reassigned one in the latest round of cuts in an effort to get its roster down to 26 players.

The three cuts were:

  • Infielder Jose Miranda
  • Outfielder Trevor Larnach
  • RHP Jordan Balazovic

Miranda and Larnach were optioned to Triple-A St. Paul, while Balazovic was reassigned to the organizations minor league camp.

Minnesota has until the March 28 season opener in Kansas City to get its roster down to 26 players, with no more than 13 pitchers. After Monday's cuts, Minnesota is now down to 41 players in spring camp, nine of which are non-roster invitees.

The current roster makeup is:

  • 21 pitchers (3 non-roster)
  • 4 catchers (2 non-roster)
  • 8 infielders (3 non-roster)
  • 5 outfielders (0 non-roster)
  • 2 utility players (1 non-roster)

The Twins have just one player on the 60-day injured list, though did place three pitchers on the 15-day injured list Monday.
