The Minnesota Twins have announced a third round of spring cuts Tuesday as they work to get their roster down to 26 players by opening day.
The four cuts are:
- Catcher Jair Camargo
- Infielder Austin Martin
- Infielder Yunio Severino
- Outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez
Camargo, Martin and Severino were all optioned to Triple-A St. Paul while Rodriguez was optioned to Double-A Wichita.
Minnesota have until their March 28 season opener in Kansas City to get their roster down to 26 players, with no more than 13 pitchers. After Tuesday's cuts the team has 44 players in camp, 10 of which are non-roster invitees.
The current roster make-up is:
- 22 pitchers (4 non-roster)
- 4 catchers (2 non-roster)
- 9 infielders (3 non-roster)
- 6 outfielders (0 non-roster)
- 2 utility players (1 non-roster)
Minnesota has just one player on the 60-day injured list.
The Twins will open their 2024 season at Kansas City on March 28.
